In 1967, Marine Pfc. Thomas Michael ‘Mike’ Hanratty went missing in a helicopter crash while serving his country in Vietnam. To this day, he is still listed as MIA, in spite of several efforts to locate his remains.
Growing up on Siloam Road, Mike went to Beulah School and graduated from Pueblo County High School. Family members and several friends remember the gifted young man who was in 4H, played basketball and explored Buzzard’s Canyon with his pals. To read more about Mike's story, click here.
As a tribute to Mike, efforts are being made to have Highway 78 West, the road from Pueblo to Beulah, renamed in his honor. Colorado Senator Cleave Simpson has offered to propose a resolution in the Statehouse. You can help by sending an email to Senator Simpson to show your support of this project.
